VAROSHA AND WALLED CITY

Ayia Napa

Varosha in Famagusta is now a hauntingly beautiful ghost town frozen in time. Abandoned since 1974, its crumbling hotels, deserted streets, and untouched beaches offer a unique glimpse into history. Recently reopened for visitors, Varosha is a must-see for those seeking an unforgettable experience that blends intrigue, history, and the surreal charm of a place reclaimed by nature. The tour will start with Ayia Napa and Protaras hotel pickups around 9am, then we’ll cross the border in Derinya and head straight to varosha.

During the transfer, guests will receive complimentary refreshments such as water and fresh
fruit. Whilst on the transfer the Greek guide will give a brief talk on the history of varosha and
make sure all guests have their passports to cross the border, when we reach the border,
this is when we’ll collect the turkish guide.

Once we’ve reached the location the guide will then take you around the ghost town while
providing all the history surrounding the beautiful town, you will then have free time to
explore the area yourselves and take lots of pictures. Your guide will have given you a time
and meeting point so you can rejoin the transfer and make your way to the walled city!
Once parked your guide will show you where the walled city ruins are and then the famous
Petek bakery where you can sample and buy some delicious treats and lunch, this will also
be your meeting point at the end of your free time.

The tour will then end with hotel drop offs in Protaras and finishing in Ayia Napa!
